We have already journeyed into the new year, and I wanted to take the opportunity to send you my warmest greetings. I hope this email finds you well and that the year has been off to a good start.
At the beginning of 2024, I dedicated time to personal renewal and professional development. During one of those opportunities, I had the pleasure to meet world-renowned researcher and N.Y. Times bestselling author, Marcus Buckingham, and learn about his new book, Love + Work, in which he emphasizes the importance of focusing on those things in our work and life that we love doing. It resonated with me. When my mother passed away last year, I was again reminded how precious our time on earth is. It inspired me to renew my commitment to my mission that I have pursued for the last fifteen years, which is to mobilize and develop leaders to create a positive future for all. This is the work that I love doing!
In pursuing this mission, I have reflected on the challenges new “first-time” managers face in their role as leaders and how we can better support them to become more successful. Shockingly, 60% of first-time managers fail within the first 24 months, according to research conducted by CEB Global. This inspired me to launch a series of short videos to better prepare new managers for their leadership role.
In this series, I address the reasons that I believe are behind this alarming statistic and provide practical insights on crucial behavioral and emotional skills based on the ASPIRE Leadership Model. These are the most essential skills managers need to thrive in their new leadership role.
This series will also benefit those who mentor, coach and support new managers and provide insights to people who are are still wondering if becoming a manager might be right for them.

Don’t miss out on the other videos in the series! I will share the videos in my frequent newsletters over the coming months. If you are not yet subscribed to the ASPIRE Newsletter, I invite you to register at www.reinerlomb.com/news/.
I would be grateful if you could share this Newsletter with your colleagues and friends.
Thank you for watching!
